Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DisciPals, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Description of Service

DisciPals is a Bible reading and Scripture study app for iPhone and iPad. The service includes Journey reading plans, Scripture reading, progress tracking, notes, highlights, bookmarks, milestones, downloadable translations, private StudyPals groups, shared reading activity, and group chat. Features may change as the service is maintained and improved.

Free Access and Optional Support

DisciPals is currently offered without paid feature tiers. Optional donations or support made outside the app do not unlock, change, or limit app features and are not purchases of digital content or services within the app.

User Accounts

You must create an account to use most app features. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information
  • Keep your sign-in credentials and verification codes secure
  • Accept responsibility for activity under your account
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access
  • Not create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes

Age Rating and Eligibility

DisciPals is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store. If you are under the age required to consent in your jurisdiction, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service in violation of applicable law
  • Harass, abuse, or defame others
  • Impersonate a person or entity
  • Interfere with service security, stability, or availability
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts
  • Use bots/scrapers without permission
  • Upload malicious code or harmful content

User Content

You retain ownership of content you create in the app, including notes, highlights, group names, shared reflections, and chat messages. You grant DisciPals a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, moderate, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights needed to submit it.

StudyPals Groups and Moderation

StudyPals groups are private and invite-only, but group content is visible to the members of that group. You are responsible for the groups you create, the people you invite, and the content you share. Group administrators may manage members and remove content where those controls are available.

We may use automated checks and administrative tools to review, reject, remove, or restrict content or accounts that violate these terms, threaten safety, create legal risk, or interfere with the service. We do not guarantee that all objectionable content will be identified or removed immediately.

Intellectual Property

The DisciPals app, including software, design, branding, and related materials, is owned by DisciPals and protected by intellectual property laws.

Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer any part of the service.

Apple App Store

The app is made available through the Apple App Store and is licensed, not sold. Your use of the app is also subject to applicable Apple App Store terms and usage rules. Apple is not responsible for operating or supporting DisciPals; contact us at the address below for app support.

DisciPals currently uses API.Bible translation sources for NIV, NLT, NKJV, World English Bible (US), and American Standard Version content.

DisciPals relies on third-party infrastructure and may include links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party content, uptime, terms, or privacy practices.

Service Availability and Changes

We may update, add, suspend, or remove features and may perform maintenance that temporarily limits availability. We do not promise that the service, synchronization, notifications, or third-party content will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep independent copies of any information you cannot afford to lose.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISCIPALS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion from the in-app Account screen. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or use the service in ways that create legal or security risk.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the last-updated date at the top of this page and provide additional notice when appropriate. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights or other legal protections that cannot be waived under the laws that apply to you.
